Night in the Museum

Get your family together for an exciting night in the museum as you sleep over beside dinosaurs and science displays. Bring your own sleeping bag and get ready to rough it as we go exploring the wonders of science. This is what you can expect:

Guided Night Tours: Explore the museum's exhibits in a new light with exclusive after-hours tours that reveal secrets and stories of the past.

Science Demonstrations: Engage with hands-on experiments and live demonstrations that make science come alive in exciting ways.

Dinosaur Encounter: Learn about the giants of the Mesozoic era with up-close encounters and expert talks from our paleontologists.
Stargazing Session: Cap off the night by gazing at the stars through telescopes, weather permitting.

This family-oriented event is designed to spark curiosity and wonder, providing both children and adults with a deeper appreciation for the mysteries of science and natural history.

Energetica Exhibition

On loan from the NEMO Science Museum in Amsterdam, the Energetica exhibition is coming to the Community Science Museum. It’s a series of installations that allow visitors to experience the power of the elements as we harness them. From solar energy powering lighting, to ‘Wind Island’ that shows how turbines are able to use and control wind to create power. This is what you can expect:

Solar Spectacle: Marvel at how solar panels capture the sun’s energy, powering an array of lights and interactive displays. Learn about the science of photovoltaic cells and see real-time energy generation in action.

Wind Island: Experience the force of wind through our immersive 'Wind Island' installation. Stand amidst powerful turbines and discover how we can harness, convert, and store wind energy to power our lives.

Hydro Power Hub: Dive into the world of water power as you interact with models that mimic rivers and oceans, showcasing the technology behind hydroelectric power and tidal energy.

Energy Lab: Participate in hands-on experiments and activities that let you generate your own energy and understand the engineering behind energy-efficient technologies.

Don't miss this enlightening exploration of how we can harness the power of the elements to create sustainable energy solutions.
